Biography
Thomas Parisch was born in 1981 and grew up in Nürtingen, a city close to Stuttgart, Germany. He started studying music at the local music school, first picking up the oboe when he was 12 years old and later the piano at age 16.
In the Fall of 2000 he enrolled at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart pursuing a double major in oboe (studying with Ingo Goritzki) and music theory (with Wolfgang Budday) allowing him to enlarge upon his keen interest in composition while remaining a performing musician.
Upon graduation a scholarship allowed him to complement his knowledge about classical music with studies in jazz and contemporary styles at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Berklee was also the place where he first learned about the craft and potential of film music. Thomas found motion pictures to be the most appropriate field to apply his pluralistic notion of music which led him to apply to USC´s film scoring program to pursue a career in this field.
Thomas Parisch currently resides in Los Angeles, California finishing his graduate degree in Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television (USC).
